September Runner Ups

I missed quite a few days this month, but always on days when I was gone shooting a wedding all day. I can't believe it's already been 9 months of this project! I only have 3 months left! Crazy. My plan is too keep posting till I reach 365 which will likely run into January a bit to make up for the missed days.

Anyway, here are the runner ups for Septemeber, all the ones that didn't get chosen for the picture of the day, but I still liked and wanted to share.

You scoop up a handful of bark dust at the playground and say "It's snowing!" as you throw it into the air over your head.

Another lil critter found wandered across your path and you snatch it up and kept it in your lil cage for a few days. Today I mentioned that he probably wants to jump and so you took him out into the front yard and set him free.

My bath time baby. I said "Cora, put some bubbles on your nose. So you dipped your whole face in and came up like this.
You love riding your bike with your friends. I'd like to point out that my child is the only one wearing a helmet and that he was not prompted by me to put it on. SO proud of my safety insistent boy.

The ol' electronic devices. They never cease to entertain.

2nd grade. You've been having a good time. In fact, maybe too good of a time. Your teacher has said you goof off a lot and have been causing distractions. Hmm... a class clown? We're working on it and I know you like to learn, but you love to have fun with your friends and make kids laugh. You'll work it out. I hope.

255/365

I've found a way to shop with you. Or at least some what. You hide under the racks and then giggle and I try to find you (while browsing the clothes) and then you poke your head out and say "I found you!"

You're my black and white boy. Things are right and things are wrong and there is nothing else. I love your heart for justice and Your brain for things to make sense and be consistent. I love the person you are.

254/365

Today, after a trip to Costco, you fell asleep right as I pulled into the driveway. Since you've been fighting your naps lately I didn't want to risk moving you inside, so I simply brought the groceries inside, grabbed my book and then sat in the car while you slept for an hour and a half till it was time to go pick up your brother. These are the things moms do when they're desperate for nap time.
Tis the season for loosing teeth. You pulled one of your two front teeth out today and I'm hoping you'll loose your other one in time for Christmas!

Your daddy can turn any bit of waiting into play time: patty cake while we waited for our lunch.
While doing your chores, you roped your lil sister into helping you. I don't mind one bit.

Oh you two. You spend about half the day antagonizing each other and whining and fighting and the other half as the sweetest pair ever. Your lil matching hats from tutu. Logan said to me "I wanna rock Cora, and I'll let you take pictures of us Mommy."  Um... well ok!

Just bein wild and crazy with daddy in the morning.
I found you administering medicine (water) to your "sick" sister and her puppy. You guys are too funny.

My early morning wake up call. At least you're cute.
Today was picture day at school. You picked out your outfit, and asked daddy to spike up your hair. You're growing up so fast!

248/365

Peek a boo. I realize that this game will only work to get smiles out of you for a lil while longer. But for now, it works like a charm.
While at the book store today, you found a Ninjago encyclopedia that you just HAD to have. I told you not today. And you were not happy about it. But somehow I made it out of the store without buying it for you and with out a major meltdown. While in the car I told you about how everyone in the world experiences disappointment. And that only certain special people learn how to use the super power "gratitude" to combat it. So we practiced our super power in the car, listing things we were grateful for.

You both enjoyed your time at the Kroc center today. It's so fun to watch you guys play and jump and run and climb and cannon ball around the gym.

246/365

Shopping with you is such a hoot. You crack me up with the things you notice and like. You liked this lion who was "just my size!" and you spent a good 20 minutes wearing a cowboy hat and saying "I'm a cute cowboy!" over and over.
First time back in the pool in a long while. You were so excited to see if you were tall enough to ride the water slide now, but alas, still about half an inch to go. Uhhhhggg, you want it so bad! Maybe soon!

Your resting place of choice: directly underneath me.
Thank you pinterest, for a fresh supply of ways to occupy children and also use up a box of stale cheerios.

244/365

Always make sure to work in a tongue dance into your morning routine.

I just love that while playing in your sister's play kitchen you decided the dishes needed to be washed. You must have been watching your daddy in our kitchen.

243/365

I found you reading a bedtime story to your lil babies. You are too precious.
We had our plum tree pruned back from it's crazy overgrownness. You had to test it out when you got home from school.

And out comes the independence.  And you are mastering all sorts of new skills every day. Puttin' socks on by yourself; check.
Anything you can do, your sister will be right behind you attempting too.

The best restaurants have sidewalk chalk.
Climbing a fence. Like a boss.
