June Runner ups

Month #6 finished! That means I'm half way through this project. Unbelievable. I have missed one or two days here and there but for the most part I've photographed my children every day for half a year. It doesn't feel like that long, feels like I just started.

Here are June's runner ups!

174/365

While at the dog park today, you fell and scraped your knee. It started bleeding and you refused to let me clean it or put a bandaid on it. You just wanted to sit and stare at it and say "My owie, mommy, my owie."

While attempting to get a sweet picture of the two of us while I was snuggling you, I got this. And well, it just cracks me up.

Since your brother went to spend a week with his grandparents, it's just you this week. And as I pull out my camera to take your picture you say "Don't taka my piture mommy!"   OK. But just today.

Where's Cora?  "There I am!!" you say as you pop our of the ten at the video store.
Last day of VBS and I popped in while your group was finishing their craft. Of course I over heard you directing your other team mates on how to do it properly. You haven't quite grasped the concept of creative liberty yet. ;)

Bedtime Storytime is one of my favorite times hands down. You all pile on the couch together, and get lots in the world of books. Even Pogo can't resist.
We've been at VBS all week, you having the time of your life, being a wild and crazy kid and me the official photographer, popping in and out of all the different activities. It's so fun when I find myself with your group and I get to see you learning and playing. Here you are cheering on your team in the limbo championships. Go Pink Clown Fish!

Pogo, whom you tell us is your favorite dog, nearly every day, is making himself right at home here and with you.
School's out and so are all the neighbor kids. You wanted to share your snack with your friends.

We headed to the park by the library after getting some books and found a whole family of Nutria munching on the clovers. You and your brother wanted to get so close and I kept getting nervous that they'd get scared and attack. But luckily they just waddled into the pond and swam away.
I don't think you notice how much your sister copies your every move. And for the most part, this is wonderful, she has a great example to follow.

We have a cherry tree in our back yard that is full of dark cherries ready for the picking. You finally tried one today but were not a fan.
You on the other hand were a fan of squeezing the cherries to get the lil drops of juice into a tiny little vial you'd found somewhere. And then you drank it in itty bitty sips.

At your aunties house, you saw the kid size picnic table, which the weed whacker happened to be resting on. You said to me "Mommy, can you watch out that for me, so I can sit here?"
You and your cousin were using your shirts to zip back and forth along the clothes line. Ahhh boys.

165/365

Most days you stick by mine or your brother's side and rarely want to do much by yourself. You're such a social lil thing, you always want to be with somebody. But every once in a while lately, I'll find you entertaining yourself nicely. And on those occupations I try to snag a picture with out interrupting. Like today, when you had made your way into an empty box. I wish I knew what you were imagining it was.

Your brother spent the day with a friend, so I didn't get a picture of him.

163/365

It's not always smiles and giggles around here. Sometimes you remind me that, right, you are a two year old, and sometimes that means you are gonna change your mind about what snack you want about 16 times and when I just don't know what to do anymore, I'll grab my camera and take a picture.
Why do the boys always get the amazingly gorgeous eye lashes?

Showing off your mad swing skills as well as your big girl underwear. We tried them out today since you've been showing lots of interest and as excited as you were to wear them, they didn't magically potty train you on the spot unfortunately. Oh well, they sure were cute.
And you were showing off your mad climbing skills for the neighborhood girls too.

Thank the Lord for otter pops and the magical moment of calm they buy me.

160/365

You caught a glimpse of yourself in the mirror and started cracking up.
Neither of you wanted to get out of the shower, and once I finally got you both bundled up in your towels you sat down  together and were a lil wet piles of giggles.

You love to swing so very much. I should start keeping track of the amount of time you spend on swings and I should also teach you how to pump.
Today was Father's day. I woke up to Cora whining and crying for me in her crib about an hour earlier than I had planned on getting up. Then as I was changing her diaper in the bathroom I stepped on dog poop on the floor. While cleaning that up I heard you calling for me in your room saying you felt like you might throw up. Yeah, I wasn't in the best of moods and was frustrated because I wanted to get up and sneak out of the house while everyone slept to get Daddy a special breakfast. Luckily your daddy isn't too picky and was able to calm me and your sister down, so we could still "sneak" out to get breakfast. We spent the day together and had dinner with Puz (my grandfather), where you and the other gang of boys tackled daddy for some good ol' fashion horse play in the back yard. I'm so grateful for your daddy. He really is the Best Daddy Ever.

You two are all over our couch, jumpin on top, climbing underneath. It's our indoor playground.

157/365

This is the one and only photo I took today. We braved the movie theater with a two year old at nap time. We did not come out unscathed. Luckily Logan, you didn't seem phased by your sisters' whining and walking up and down the isle and fighting over popcorn.

Just sharing your milk with Daddy.
Today was the last day of first grade. It was so sweet to watch you saying goodbye to your friends and teachers. I'm so proud of you, you made so many new friends this year, learned so much. Well done, son.

My faithful lil gardener. We might actually get some crop out of our lil vegetable garden.
I spy with my lil eye, a family out to dinner.

If you give a big brother a book... you'll have to give the little sister one to go with it.
I couldn't believe it but you and your Dad played a full blown real deal game of Risk. So what if the box says it's for 9+. You held your own, understood and played well! Your dad was beaming with pride, as he took over the world.
